Hi Todd,
With the release of WordPress 3, you will find that the Post Thumbnail feature is quite widely used. Here’s an example: http://smartblogchicago.com/
The Custom Post Types feature has been added to the core of WordPress and is also being taken advantage of by many sites. If you have not done so yet, I suggest taking a look at WordPress 3 as it’s quite awesome.

Wow, all these 3 plugins are very rare and relevant. I love the post thumbnail mentioned above. I haven’t seen one so far with a blog who uses it. I’m amazed!
