New Blog Direction – Naked Blogging

After 8 years in business and countless learning experiences, successes and failures – we are ready to completely open up to our readers, clients and industry friends. We want to bring a whole new level of transparency to you.  We call it Naked Blogging.

In the past, we have kept up with the industry standard by writing posts about other interesting people, companies and web apps. A lot of these posts could be thought of as a regurgitation of similar content delivered by pro-bloggers and networks, only with a slightly differing opinion.  These types of posts are not new or unique content nor do they provide insight into who we are, what we are doing and why you should care.

We believe that the greatest subject matter we have to share with our readers is our ongoing experience as a web strategy and user experience design company. Working at dt is a constant learning experience whether it involves tweaking our creative process, improving our customer experience or tackling new and exciting projects.

Our blog will be an open forum about how we approach web strategy and user experience design and how we run our business.  Our goal is to to share with you what makes us tick and why we love what we do.

Upcoming blog posts will cover the following topics:

  • Transparency in our billing and time accountability
  • Reviews and walk-throughs of completed user experience designs
  • Insights on how to prepare for site redesigns or new ventures with us
  • Details about how our design process works
  • Tips for DIY design
  • New user experience design projects we are working on
  • Updates on our internal Championsound.com musician promotion tool
  • Events we are attending or speaking at

We are also sending a biweekly digest of our blog posts to better stay in touch with those people that do not use feed readers or frequently visit our blog.  You can sign up on the right side column of the blog.

We would like to encourage our clients, readers and other companies in our industry to join in on the conversation to share their thoughts, ideas and questions. Let’s get Naked!

I am super excited about this… I feel like one of the downfalls of a blog is formality. It is important for blog posts to be well thought out, insightful and complete, but it is equally important for them to be honest, spontaneous, timely, and fun.

With that being said, I too commit to getting “naked” with excitement (a little nervousness), anticipation, and a commitment to let it flow! This is the same commitment that I make to all of our clients in our creative processes, because when you do…that’s when the magic happens ;)

I’m excited about this too. I think the most educational posts about business are the ones that are open.

It’s interesting to read about you doing this. It’s an approach I’ve been considering for my site, but I haven’t yet made the definite decision to go down that path. Your post is definitely swaying me in that direction.
